This Birch plywood has Birch veneer on both the face and the back.

Depending on the species, Birch sapwood appears light, with a cream-like or white color. The heartwood may be light reddish-brown or dark brown tinged with red. The close, straight grain is finely textured and uniform in appearance, with the grain more prominent in Yellow Birch than Paper Birch. On occasion, some Birch species will present a curly grain.

These Prefinished UV Birch panels are prefinished with a durable, clear UV coating on 2 sides. This is a time saving alternative for your project.

birch comes with a rotary cut face veneer with very little face defects. It is laid up on a plywood core with more layers than typical domestic plywood.

Siam Birchwood Industries’s Baltic Birch Plywood carries a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification and meets all ten principals from the FSC, including reduction of environmental impact and appropriate monitoring and assessment activities to maintain the condition of forests. 

Our Birch Premium Plywood variety is the highest quality grade available for Birch Plywood. From 4mm Birch Plywood all the wall up to 30mm, the A Grade Birch face gives the product a clean and distinguished appearance that can be clear finished or stained. The B face may have several oval or butterfly shaped veneer patches, which replace any knotholes.

Birch Plywood Options

Siam Birchwood Industries also manufactures Birch handy panels . Pre-cut from our Birch Premium Plywood sheets, these 1200 x 600mm panels provide a convenient, easily transportable option for immediate use in DIY projects. 

Alternatively, we have our BB/BB – Exterior product, which possesses the same core as our Premium Birch Ply sheets, but instead has B face grade on the front and back. These differences alter the aesthetic qualities of the product, but maintains all of its structural integrity.

Panel Options and Finishes

RediBead

Our panels can be used for cabinet doors and backers, wainscoting, wall paneling and any other interior design application where the warmth and beauty of beaded hardwood is desired.

RediFinish

A factory pre-finish UV coating that has zero VOC emissions and is regularly tested to ensure compliance with KCMA standards. RediFinish creates a scratch- and mar-resistant panel that is available in four standard gloss levels*.

• Low (20-30)

• High (70-80)

*custom gloss reflection levels are available within +/- 5% reflectivity with a 200 face minimum order

Manufactured plywood panel made up of three or more layers, with a hardwood face species (like red oak, birch, walnut, maple and many more). The typical hardwood log produces a large amount of B- and C-grade material.

 We are a leading manufacturer of domestic hardwood plywood with an offering that includes all of the common hardwood species. All of our hardwood plywood panels are made with a hand selected face veneer applied to either a softwood veneer or composite substrate.

3/8″ Thick C/2 Grade UV on 1 Side White Birch 4’x8′ Veneer Core

Pine plywood can be a Radiata Pine, Elliotis Pine, Pirana Pine, or other tropical Pine species. Import Pine is similar in color to our domestic Southern Yellow Pine with a more closed grain. Import Pine does not produce as much sap as our domestic Pine. Import Pine sands to a smooth finish, but has stability flaws like domestic Pine. Most import Pine is imported from South America or Chile. Import Pine plywood is used in the construction of painted cabinets and furniture pieces. It is utilized where it is not visibly seen, for reinforcement of the cabinet box. Import Pine panels are also used in the upholstered furniture industry.

Okoume is pink in color on the face and back. Face veneers are usually Rotary Cut, Whole Piece Face. The core is a Chinese Poplar that typically has more layers than other imports. For instance, an 18mm panel will have 13 plies versus a 7 or 9 ply product from other countries. Having a Poplar core makes this product less stable than a tropical hardwood core. Okoume is available with Moisture Resistant glue or Marine glue. Okoume is most commonly used in the construction of cabinet boxes. Okoume is a good substitute for Meranti, Virola, or Faveria plywood. The cost of Okoume makes this product more attractive than other import plywood.
